Josh Abbott Band & Pat Green LIVE!

Wow! What a treat! At the Feels like Home Festival, we saw Josh Abbott Band perform “My Texas” and Pat Green joined them on stage for a cameo performance!

Yes, for our fourth adventure in our “My Texas” Living out the Lyrics adventure, we “sang ‘Carry On’ at a Pat Green Show” and I belted out “My Texas” with JAB, LIVE!  AND my hubby and I met Josh Abbott backstage before the concert! We had a win, win, win day out there in Brownwood Texas.

Josh Abbott Band put on a great performance! The entire band was fun to watch and engaging. David is crazy talented and hopped between the harmonica, keys, and guitar. The violinist, Adam, danced all over that stage lighting up the audience. Eddie, the drum player brought the beat and the guitarists keep us entertained. During the set, the band performed a mash-up and many of the bad mates sang - they were all really great! Kris, the lead guitarist sounded like Josh Turner with his deep melodic voice!! What a talented group!

And since this experience is all about exploring Texas we took the opportunity to go to a couple of places in Brownwood, like Underwood’s BBQ. It’s an old school bbq cafeteria and I thought it was pretty good. I had the brisket and I tried the ribs which were tender and falling off the bone. Matt had the chicken fried steak and we sampled just about all the sides. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s good ole, down-home southern food. Part of the charm of Brownwood is the lake and we learned about the Castle of Brownwood from a local. Speaking of, we made new local friends, my most favorite part of traveling! And if you’re looking for a great place to stay, this cute little house in the country made for a perfect getaway!
